Yucca desmetiana is an interesting ‘soft leafed’ yucca with new green foliage that turns to an attractive burgundy red as it ages. This is a popular species for landscaping, they grow with a single stem and look good as a specimen plant.

Grow this plant in a free draining soil, full sun to part shade. An all-purpose slow release fertilizer in summer and if growing it in a pot, water during summer. Like all yuccas this one prefers a dry winter.
